All about Heather... [Weekdays 9am-3pm]
I was Born in Brevard, North Carolina and raised in Alabama, Fayetteville, N.C., Germany, and San Antonio, TX by military parents. My first real gig in radio was as an EMS dispatcher at the tender age of 19, where I would often pretend to be spinning tunes as opposed to sending ambulances on emergency calls! I've spent a decade in social work and had my real start in radio starting in 2007 at two local volunteer radio stations.
While I try not to be starstruck over musicians I will admit that I have an extensive autograph collection. I tell myself its for my future children! Among the many musicians in my collection I also have Shirley Temple and Carol Burnett! One of my favorite stories is when I left a photograph that I took of a fairly well respected musician and Grammy winner backstage to be signed during her show. Rather than signing the photograph and leaving it for me to pick up later she insisted on finding me in the audience and once she did...offered to pay me handsomely for the great photograph! (I gave it to her for free, of course!)
Some other hobbies are listening to the radio (of course- I really LOVE Sunday Buffet on the River), travelling, "antiqueing", reading, photography, board games, poker, and attending live shows.
